This Space
Welcome.
This space is for you, an open forum to discuss issues, ideas, thoughts relating to the use of ICT in the classroom.
We hope to encourage more interesting uses of ICT across the classroom through using this space.
This space is for all staff to use, make comment on issues you want covered, or just read the ongoing discussions. The ICT and VELS team consisting of Sue P, Trevor and myself (Suz) will be using this area for ongoing discussions as to what we are doing and where we are at with the project. So please, jump in, add comments, and be a part of the project.
I will be adding links etc for you all to peruse. Please email me if there are any problems with this space.

If you get a chance have a read trough the Marc Prensky paper on Digital Natives and Digital immigrants. Link to the right >
It gives a great insight into why some approaches we are using with our students don’t always work, and some work really well.
The students today are indeed VERY different from those at school 20 years ago.:lol:

Well, our team of 5 has dwindled to 3. Trevor, Sue and I will be working together through the project, with staff across the college to implement best practice of ICT and VELS strategies across the subject and year levels.

I’ve spent the last couple of hours having fun with learning objects. People should check out http://www.thelearningfederation.edu.au I’ve made a comedy film AND a horror film. Have earned a film school certificate for my troubles too! Have also spent time looking at the Victorian Education Channel which has fantastic ideas, lesson plans and heaps more for English, Literacy, webquests etc Go to http://www.education.vic.gov.au/schools and have fun! I made a podcast this week, and participated in an online conference.
Finally have Moodle up, and will try to get something running with that over the next week.
The discussion about meetings was interesting, when a space like this could be used a lot more effectively to really communicate with each other…
ahh well…
