I am just returning a visit to your blog site. I see you are into live blogging as well. That is one tool that I feel has huge potential for education. Thank you for commenting on my wikipedia post and I hope that you dont mind if I answer the questions here on this post. I also could not believe my year 11s when they said they had not used it. When they researched it though they were fascinated.
When I used the same lesson for my year 9/10s, I think 60% put their hands up and said they had. However, the exercise was a valuable one especially as they have to work on a wiki on a global project. Wiki editing is a skill that needs to be taught. And, yes, I want the students to add pages on Wikipedia about Hawkesdale, as I dont think there is anything on there yet.
